VFF USA Officially Launches

The Vicente Ferrer Foundation Launch Party in Washington, DC

For over 40 years, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation has reached across continents and cultures with the goal of eliminating poverty. Due to this incredible history, CGC was committed to creating a concept that launched the organization’s first U.S. office while showcasing a delicious medley of Indian, American, and Spanish flavors.

The Recipe for Empowerment launch event on September 22 gave supporters an opportunity to witness the impact of Vicente Ferrer Foundation programs, try flavors from around the world, and celebrate this major milestone in VFF’s history. Celebrities, philanthropists, social change makers, and dignitaries gathered at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain for a beautiful evening.

Over 250 guests enjoyed dishes conceived and presented by world class Indian, Spanish and American chefs, to symbolize VFF’s intertwined global mission. The event featured 6 Michelin Guide restaurants including Rasika, Bombay Club, Indique, Anxo, Jaleo and Boqueria, along with critically acclaimed restaurants The Kitchen at Blue Creek, A Loving Table, and Mitsitam Cafe.

CGC also brought India to Washington DC through the VFF USA virtual reality experience, The Empowered. Multiple viewing stations positioned throughout the venue enabled guests to transport into rural India and experience firsthand the lives that have been impacted through VFF’s programs.

Recipe for Empowerment raised over $52,000 and brought about media attention from New York Times, Buzzfeed, The Washingtonian, Politico, El Tiempo Latino, Brown Girl Magazine along with a host of additional international media correspondents. It has been an incredible journey launching VFF USA and we look forward to capitalizing on this momentum and watching this organization grow in the United States.
